Cataloghi della Biblioteca Augusta

In this section, are manuscripts of exclusive local historic interest, that, through the forms of the Statue and the Constitution, annals and biographies, records and diaries, recounts not only the story of the city, but also her buildings and monuments, of her institutions and important families.

The older manuscripts were acquired in the Augusta library following the suppression of the religious associations. Other parts were acquired from donations or the bequeaths of the maps of Annibale Mariotti, the private library of Ariodante Fabretti, the manuscripts of Gian Carlo Conestabile, and other important exponents of local culture; they are of undoubtable national value. This material establishes a valuable source of information for scholars of local history.
