Manoscritti diversi

This collection contains digital copies of manuscripts of diverse origins conserved by the Augusta library.

The archive of the Library includes 3400 manuscripts; the original group was formed with a part of the private library that Prospero Podiani donated to the Municipality in 1582. They form part of the Antico Fondo.

The suppression of religious associations, resulting in the confiscation of the ecclesiastical libraries, led to a notable and significant increase in the library's collection. The codex coming from the Monastery of the Olivetani di Monte Morcino, of the Benedettini of San Pietro, and of the Franciscans of Monteripido, forms the Fondo Soppresse Corporazioni.

The library is in the process of cataloguing the information of the manuscripts with the program MANUS, elaborated in ICCU. The descriptions are not yet available on line but can be consulted in the library.

Available catalogs in the library are:

- Printed Catalogs

- Typewritten Catalogs

The Augusta Library has for many years had a program of reproduction of manuscripts, first in microfilm, and now in digital format, this created the premise for the realization of the digital library.
